As of December 31, 2010 Sand Spring ceased offering subscription commentary to the public. Instead, the firm currently consults privately to selected clients on alternative investment manager selection and technical/macro trends.
The firm was founded in 1999 by Barclay T. Leib, an individual with over twenty years of experience on Wall Street trading and analyzing a variety of markets. Mr. Leib spent the majority of his career at J.P. Morgan and J. Aron Goldman Sachs where he specialized in commodity and foreign exchange derivatives.
In recent years, Mr. Leib has written a variety of financial articles that have appeared in Plan Sponsor magazine, Derivatives Strategy magazine, Bloomberg, Financial Executive magazine, Hedgeworld.com, and the Princeton Economic Institute's World Capital Market Review.
